Call For Press Accreditation

Subcommittee for Media & Public Affairs Saint Mardarije Glorification Committee

CORDIALLY INVITES, on behalf of the Diocese of New Gracanica and Midwestern America, journalists and ecclesial media organizations interested in covering the sacred festivities on occasion of the Canonization and Translation of the Relics of Saint Mardarije of Libertyville, to be held at Saint Sava Monastery in Libertyville, Illinois, on July 14-16, 2017, to hereby apply for

PRESS ACCREDITATION

by submitting a letter or e-mail to the Media & Public Affairs Subcommittee at stmardarijemedia@gmail.com by 7 July 2017, containing the following information:

a.) Name & Surname of journalist
b.) Name of news organization/publication
c.) Contact information, i.e. e-mail, phone number, address
e.) Church affiliation, if applicable.

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:

• While all Orthodox Christian liturgical events are “open to the public,” receiving press accreditation will allow the journalist to follow festivities from a dedicated press area, and allow the Subcommittee to plan and arrange interviews with visiting prelates and dignitaries, and/or plan press events.

• Foreign journalists are welcome to attend and the Subcommittee will provide a formal invitation letter for the purposes of applying for a U.S. visa, if needed, with proper advance notice. The Subcommittee regrets that it is unable to provide any assistance with travel costs or related services due to budget constraints, nor is it able to assist in the visa application process apart from providing a formal invitation letter.

• A schedule detailing the specific events and times planned for July 14-16, will be provided with the acknowledgment of your accreditation application.

• Credentials (i.e. a press badge) will be provided to you to allow for access to any dedicated press areas prior to the event.

We look forward to welcoming you to this historic event for Orthodoxy in America!
